Divine

Fantasy has been influenced by this idea of an era of faith, and the divine is largely present in most fictional worlds set in medieval times. It is not surprising to see many divine and religious archetypes being adapted into play, nor is it to see many fantasy character classes in LARP expanding from these historical roots.

Nobles & Merchants

In LARP, nobles and merchants characters are sharing some similarities, often conflated together by stereotypes and caricatural cliches. We all saw those pompous, hedonistic, prideful and self-important characters despising everything that is common or bellow them, shunning physical work and boasting with an almost cartoonish sense of entitlement.

Late Middle Ages

The Late Middle Ages are associated heavily with gothic themes. It was a time of great challenges, and those who could rise from the ashes of these dark times were hardened like steel. Crisis can forge heroes, break ancient norms, and inspire new ideas and amazing creations.

There is no helmet more quintessentially “15th Century” than the sallet – footmen and knights alike donned these fantastic pieces of equipment as they marched to war together. But The Kingmaker isn’t just any sallet – this work of art combines historical beauty with the manufacturing expertise of Armstreet (since 2003!) to create a magnificent helmet fit for a noble. They took the simplicity of the sallet shape and added small details to make a helmet befitting a champion, which can be worn on its own or combined with the Kingmaker Bevor for more protection during heavier fighting. The stainless steel construction makes this a formidable option for combat, while the modern convenience of a locking pin blends in well with the aesthetic whilst giving you the option to safely keep the visor raised. As with the rest of the Kingmaker set, the bottom edge of this helmet is adorned with stainless steel roping and an intricate brass border, held on by robust brass rivets. A historically inspired cast brass flower rivet decorates the side of this helmet, having the functional role of attaching the visor as well as adding to the overall beauty. Even when you sweat into this helmet you won’t have to worry as much about the threat of corrosion – brass and stainless steel mean that it will serve you well without a huge amount of maintenance. This helmet comes pre-padded and ready for battle, so please keep that in mind when taking measurements. Please note, the matching bevor, it is not included.
