The Bee
The hives provide wax, honey, and the free labor of their pollinating bees. From the orchards to the farms, their buzzing presence announces wealth, prosperity, and much more. They light our homes at night, they fill the cups of newlyweds, and they keep our secrets safe one seal at a time. Yet, despite all this, no one feels at ease in their proximity. There is an eerie quality to the buzz of these insects. For who doesn’t fear the stings of the swarm?
This one-of-a-kind fantasy outfit was designed as a personal project by our artisan Will to portray an insectoid bee character for the LARP Barovia. Custom made, it adapts various standard items from our shop, adjusting them to fit the theme with contrasting yellow and black, as well as honeycomb and stripe patterns.
The main part of the set includes a long vest, a thick adventurer leather belt and a pair of striped bracers. The costume is completed by a short scabbard, a small pouch with honeycomb, mustard colored winnigas, and a hood inspired from our Assassin's one adapted to fit the bee’s mandibles. A custom-made stinger is also added to reinforce the insectoid theme of this uncanny hybrid creature.
