The Dwarven King
The Character
Bock Brisebouclier comes to drop logs into a fire, burning up the dry wood like an inevitable destiny. Then a second dwarf joins him to sit beside him, his gaze lost in the flames. A third person joins them, then a fourth, until the most eminent members of their people are assembled. Together, they must do something impossible: challenge all alliances for the survival of their species.
The dwarves discussed, some raising their voices, others preferring to whisper to their most esteemed comrades. Some guilds agree, others less so, but one name was on everyone's lips. Gradually, the discourse changed until the fire cracked, imposing silence on the assembly. Then, the vote is completed, and history is written.
The King of the Dwarves, Bock Brisebouclier, was elected with the respect and trust of his people. Some chose him because he was among the oldest and most honored of Mundus, others because he had created his path on the surface as he knew so well beneath the earth. Some pointed to his fiery determination, his pride in standing among his people, his drive to re-establish the dwarves as a strong and noble species before the surface. He knew all about the human and elven peoples, and the diplomacy that weaves the nations of the Terres du Centre together.
The golden age of the Dwarves might still be behind them, but around the fire, everyone agreed that, if any King could bring it back, it was Bock Brisebouclier.
The Costume
Jean-Philippe Rodier, our logistics coordinator, has been working at Artisans d'Azure since 2021. For his character in the Duché de Bicolline and this important royal role for his entire community, he needed to dress with style and elegance. Bock therefore, wears two custom-made coats.
The first features two types of black fabric, one with a symmetrical pattern associated with the fantasy characters of the dwarf people. Electric blue lining accents add comfort and refinement. The Nain-Génieur guild logo is embroidered on the left sleeve. Of course, this coat has hidden pockets.
The second coat, in blue and green wool, features a quilted style reminiscent of gambesons. The gold riveting on the seam makes this style possible, adding a touch of nobility.
The details on the edge of both coats evoke Dwarf Mountains and a refined, high geometric style, to underline the importance of artistic construction and rigor among the Dwarf people. Buttons mimicking gears link the character's aesthetic.
His wardrobe is completed with a Burgschneider tunic, Epic Armoury pants and a custom-made skirt. He wears boots created by Cuir FL, a renowned artisan operating directly at the Duché of Bicolline.
Jean-Philippe also had our team of leather artisans produce a custom adventurer's belt. It features added Celtic embossing and a gear-shaped belt buckle to echo the character's aesthetic. A custom guild purse echoes the symmetrical lines of the coats and is fitted with a Copper Raven belt buckle. An accessory holder for everyday use is styled to match the overall look, with similar leather embossing reminiscent of the mounts on the edge of his coats. A coat of arms depicts the crest of the Nain-Génieurs. A shoulder bag, created by Atelier Féral, completes the ensemble, and it also features Copper Raven hardware.
Finally, Isil has added her touch to the costume by customizing the Epic Armoury hat. The hat features a variety of accessories: steampunk-style glasses, a magnifying glass, the guild logo and some Copper Raven conchos. The magnificent crown is also by Isil.
This detailed set ties the character into a clear theme that is lifted by the game and its history. Jean-Philippe can face the diplomacy of the Duchy of Bicolline with nobility.
