The Redemptorist Armor

The Redemptorist Armor

William L. Arenberg was a man of principle and conviction. From his official duties to his smallest actions, everything about him reflected an unwavering loyalty to his order, Notre-Dame-de-la-Rédemption, where he serves as Praesum Divitia on the High Council. His reputation, as well as that of his brotherhood, preceded him: no filth, no agent of the Immaterium, nor any other dark force would dare proliferate under his watch.

For William, Lord of Kintzheim and Marquis of Reikwart, was no mere monster hunter or ordinary repurgator. He had led and won numerous battles against creatures, each more malevolent than the last. Whether facing the armies of Uskuada, the mummy of King Solar, the Great Devourer, or, more recently, the infamous lich Isphet, he has always known how to navigate between shadow and light for the salvation of the world of Hippocampe. The Sandsabre, to which he had to bind his own fate, is girded at his waist - a constant reminder that sealing cursed artifacts is part of his Order's daily burden, and that the fight against corruption is eternal; a struggle without final victory, but a sacred duty.

All know that when William appears on a battlefield, accompanied by his brothers and sisters of the Rédemption, hope is reborn where all seemed lost. His armor, scarred and worn by combat, bears witness to his relentlessness and his determination to defeat the forces of evil, whatever the cost.

This large-scale project was created for John-Sébastien, an essential veteran of the Bicolline universe, which he has frequented for over 25 years! A founding member of his guild and a dedicated participant in this world-renowned LARP, he entrusted us with the creation of his... fifth armor! A great enthusiast of the Duchy’s skirmishes, he required a set capable of withstanding the demands of intense combat while offering superior lightness and comfort compared to his old, heavy steel armor.

Inspired by our Lord set, the Redemptionist armor retains its structure while integrating numerous optimizations and flourishes. Several aluminum plates are nested beneath laser-cut leather, revealing interlaced patterns on the shoulders, arms, greaves, and back. The torso is akin to a brigandine, composed of crisscrossed aluminum plates under supple leather, featuring an articulated ventral section for increased mobility. A long, two-tone leather skirt, adorned with a brown checkered pattern, gives him the look of an accomplished paladin. Each aluminum piece was hammered and shaped by hand, then blackened to provide a battle-hardened appearance. The gauntlets were meticulously designed to combine comfort and protection during the swiftest exchanges.

This war gear is completed by accessories that are as practical as they are impressive: a sturdy leather belt with floral motifs, a custom adjustable scabbard, and a shield bearing his guild’s crest. Finally, three magnificent Nemesis weapons faithfully accompany him: a 150cm Hunter’s Claymore with a red leather handle, a deep black Master’s Sword, and a Bowie Knife that has been by his side for years.

A heartfelt thank you to Michel Raymond for these incredible photos and to the Orbis l'Héritage site for lending us their LARP grounds.
