The Bucolic Knightess
The Character
The waves rolled in over the Celtic Island's Bay of Flames, battering the shores of Invernesshire, while it rained down on a small stone and wood building. Nothing would stop this ceremony. A fire crackled around a hundred or so well-protected people inside the chapel. This gathering honored a significant rite for the knightess; her Nains-Génieurs comrades-in-arms, the Dwarf King Bock, her midnight breakfast friends from many foreign nations, comrades from the Mac'Mart clan; even her wife and her many children had traveled from her native lands for the occasion.
Médène laid her shield on the ground and knelt down beside her fellow hobbits, a serene smile on her lips and her heart pumping. The hobbit swore an oath before witnesses to renounce hatred, deceit and cowardice, to join the Order Verdi Veritas and to defend hobbit values across peoples and borders. She swore to protect generosity and sharing, benevolence and courage. After her solemn pledge, she rose to her feet, applauded by those closest to her and greeted with honor by the other bucolic knights. She now stood among them as the Country Cream Knightess!
A feast then accompanied them, music started up, orchestrated by hobbit bards, and dishes were passed between the tables brought in for the occasion. Their cheerful conversations echoed across the room, burying the torrential rain outside. Here and now, she was surrounded by the vow she had made: the goodness of life, the pleasure and love of good company.
The Armor
Mélanie, our marketing coordinator since 2016, has acquired a custom suit of armor to shine on the battlefields of Bicolline with the Nain-Génieurs guild. This bright teal & gold armor combines the colorful aesthetics of her character with the steampunk & dwarf style from the group to which Médène belongs. Her guild's symbols, gears, are engraved on her pauldrons, bracers and greaves, making her easy to spot in battle.
This complete, multi-piece modular armor combines leather and metal. It is based on our Classic Armor and created from leather dyed in the guild's colors. Stamping and engraving on the borders of the pieces adds rich detail. The belts and straps, dyed teal, are flexible and allow adequate movement with the armor. The leather corset, engraved by hand and stamped with a steampunk motif, is topped with a large belt featuring the Nains-Gnénieurs heraldry. In addition to supporting the weight of the tassets, the corset can easily be reused in other ensembles, creating a precise aesthetic for the character.
The aluminum on the armor, material chosen for its lightness and sturdiness, is brushed to give it a desired golden gleam. Even the helmet, originally an Epic Armory product, has been modified with engraved leather and additional aluminum plates for extra protection. Every aspect of this made-to-measure armor is tailored to Mélanie, especially the gloves that allow her to grip the weapon of her choice. From the colors that identify her on the battlefield to the special Nemesis & Calimacil weapon for defending Médène values, this ensemble shines with the allegiance to his guild in Bicolline and the Verdi Veritas Order.
