The Vinier's Houppelande

The Vinier's Houppelande

The Character

Entering his castle in the Duchy of Annissise, in the Land of Kafe, Sire Agamar looked up at the banners that filled his heart with courage. The white cross on the red flag of the Vraie Foi flapped in the wind, and the sight of it was enough to soothe his doubts. The Unique was guiding him, as he had at every stage of his life. He stepped lively into his domain and handed his cloak to one of his faithful servants, revealing his resplendent garments. His golden houppelande, adorned with jewels and gems, represented everything he stood for. This garment was not a gracious luxury paid for by the taxes of the braves on his domain, but with hard-won gains from the battles he fought with them. His jewelry represented gifts, symbols of the alliances he had formed over time, of the duchies over which he exercised as a good nobleman; a gem from the duchy of Levat, a golden cross forged from the precious metals of Annaba-Jal, in the Cité des Sables.

Once home, he left the hustle and bustle of the city behind. Here, the flags of the Vraie Foi joined those of his guild, the Saint-Ordre du Vinier. The older flags made him smile as he recalled with some nostalgia when he had helped found it, back in 1006. His generals were waiting for him in the council chamber, where he quickly entered to meet his brothers-in-arms. War was raging, as always; this time, its importance was crucial. War knew the lord well; for many years, he had zealously led the troops against the tyranny of the Empire. He would lead his banners once again.

After all these years of adventure, from Taluskan to Kafe and even greater adventures, he never thought he'd find himself here, honored by a noble rank for his exploits and surrounded by people he held in such high esteem. The Saint-Ordre du Vinier had not finished its conquests and crusades against the treacherous and the evil to spread goodness, divine purity and justice. Until they were done, Sire Agamar would stand proudly among them, ready to wield his words and his blade for their noble cause.

The Costume

Founder of Les Artisans d'Azure in 2005, our President and CEO Samuel, recently acquired a magnificent customized coat to show off his character of the Duché de Bicolline. Using our web app, he created his project before entrusting it to the expert hands of our sewing team. His guild colors, yellow and red, shine through his project. Samuel chose an option with sleeves in bastioned houppelande and fabric buttons. The yellow wool hood, lined with natural linen, is also a custom project created by our sewing team. The houppelande is also cleverly reversible, allowing it to change from red to yellow proudly!

Samuel wears a felt hat from Atelier Cache-Misère on his head, ideal for many types of character, but also a must for visiting the Duché de Bicolline. The necklace is his own creation, made of laser-cut brass plates with his guild symbol. At his waist is a custom leather belt and a medieval purse made by Samuel himself. He also holds Calimacil's Lucrezia dagger, perfect for the character's aesthetic.

Finally, his boots and wide plated belt are products of ArmStreet and give him a final golden historical touch that binds the ensemble together.

With the talents of the sewing team and the various products in the store, Samuel is able to make his noble persona shine in this tailor-made costume for him.
