Inside the Nemesis Workshops

Swinging a weapon you designed and built yourself is an incredibly rewarding experience. During this full weekend at our St-Elie-de-Caxton facility, you’ll be working alongside the artisans who manufacture our weapons every day.

They aren't university professors; they are experienced craftsmen sharing the real, practical techniques they use on the shop floor.

From structural design to foam sanding and painting, we want to share our knowledge to help strengthen the community and elevate the overall quality and decorum of LARP events.

Course Overview

The workshop spans two full days. Here’s a preview of the topics covered:

  • Fiberglass core preparation and securing.
  • EVA foam cutting, shaping, and Dremel sanding.
  • Liquid latex application techniques.
  • Airbrushing and hand-painting for realistic textures.
  • Varnishing and leather wrapping for the handle.

FAQ about LARP Weapon Making Trainings

Can I build ANY weapon I want?

To ensure everyone finishes their project on time during the weekend, size and complexity limits apply. Typically, you can build a standard 1-handed or hand-and-a-half weapon (sword, axe, mace) up to a certain length (e.g., 42 inches max).

Extremely complex shapes or massive polearms are not permitted for this introductory weekend.

Your design will be approved via the Preparatory Form.

Yes! The fiberglass core, high-density foam, latex, paints, varnishes, and leather for the handle are all included.

No. While having a steady hand helps, our team will show you accessible, practical techniques (like dry-brushing and washing) that give great results even if you don't consider yourself an artist.

Yes! You can purchase our standard digital Gift Card from our online store. The recipient can then use that balance to book the weekend class date that works best for them.
