Warriors & Mercenaries

In LARP, a mercenary character will generally look like a battle-hardened veteran. No shiny full plate or fancy armor should be worn, but rather rugged, practical gear that can be worn during long marches.

BARBARIAN

The concept of the barbarian is as old as civilization itself, finding its origins as far away in history as the founding myths of the great city of Uruk, thousands of years before any Roman or even ancient Chinese used the epithet to mock the people of their periphery.

Description

Inspired by the partisan and ox tongue spear employed on European battlefields during the 15th, this LARP latex polearm is a historical weapon providing a clear reach advantage to its wielder in combat. Resembling a wide blade spear, the ox tongue was a devastating weapon mostly used in skirmish and unruly combat to deliver dreadful slashing blows. The partisan, on the other hand, had a distinctive widened base on the bottom of the blade that made it a more defensive weapon, often seeing use by city watchmen and guards, since the shape of the head could allow easy and nimble parry, and even disarming. This latex reproduction takes from both weapons, allowing this specific polearm to be used by peasant mob, bandits and rebels, or instead honorable guards, bodyguards, and professional soldiers.
