The Arcane's Last Guardian

The Character

The last Guardian of the Arcane, for 100 years, the Mage of the Tower, scanned the stars. All the signs were there: some would cross the Mist and enter Barovia, places where dark arcana mingled with indecipherable mysteries. The time had come to leave his Tower, which he protected without fail, to go out to meet them. He would need to use his knowledge to teach magic, an art so precious and rare that it marked the end of many who dared to use it without knowing it.

Hildemar grabbed his work essentials, unable to risk travelling too heavily to draw attention to himself. He took only his parchments and his trusty grimoire, revealing his half-scrawled notes, flashes of genius and transcriptions of the movement of the stars.

As he slipped on his coat, glittering like the arcana he had mastered with years of practice, Hildemar knew that the difficult path ahead needed to be completed. The time had come, however, and someone had to guide the many guests into his world, someone who knew what lay beneath the secrets. He took the road through the Berez swamps, guided by the Morninglord sun and the Ezrite moon. He preferred to rely on the information of elves or the mysteries whispered by dwarves rather than on peasant villages. He followed the trail of lost souls, quietly but surely, avoiding nocturnal monsters.

The Last Guardian of the Arcane, accompanied by the Moon, finally crossed the borders of the city of Barovie, ready to meet the adventurers who set out to discover the pure magic of the arcane.

The Costume

Luc, who worked for years in our Montreal boutique team, has fitted himself with a custom coat for his Hildemar character in the LARP he created, Barovia. This mage's blue and gold color palettes reflect the character's good alignment, who is helping players discover the secrets of magic.

In creating this character, the silhouette, color and movement of the costume were particularly important to Luc. So he decided to support the line begun with his customizable satin jacquard coat by adding the Sentinel Skirt to his ensemble. Hildemar's garments add a noble, graceful sway to his movements.

Isil's scroll holder emphasizes his wise and intellectual side. He also has a Davy Jones' Locker scroll, enabling him to write notes or create his own arcane diagram and incorporate it into his animations. Two belts at his waist add an interesting dimension to the ensemble. A spellbook accompanies him everywhere, helping him distribute quests to players interacting with him.

This set perfectly combines an effective vision of a character with a complex objective, enticing players to enter the world of Barovia and meet Hildemar.
