My father was a Viking, a warrior, a king amongst his peers. Today still, I remember how strong he was. A giant, wielding a sword so sharp it could cut a whole tree with one swing. I am all he left behind… his last child alive to keep his legacy burning in the minds of his enemies. His little girl. He watches over me, waiting for me to join him in Valhalla. But today is not my day to go. I have his memory to uphold, his dream to finish. My Viking sword in one hand, my shield in the other, I will take this new land village by village, city after city until we sit on all the thrones of England. These kings with their one god, they think they are protected, they think their faith will save them from the blows of my blade. But faith is not a shield and the gods don’t protect the unworthy who can’t defend themselves. They showed no mercy to my father and my brothers and I shall show them none either. They will hear of me, they will fear me, the shieldmaiden of their nightmares.

Description

Vikings did not have many swords, for these pretigious weapons were often reserved for the wealthy, such as famed warriors, warlords, chieftain, and the migthy Jarls. The weapon was often passed down from generation to generation with great honor, gaining a legend of its own as it became an ancestral heirlom or a prized trophy.
