This is the perfect price point for trying out chainmail. The weight is none too taxing and the aluminum doesn't heat up severely under the broad california sun. The profile is generic and does require some tailoring to be easier to don and to not mess with serious arm armor. (Taking in sleeves a few inches in length and cutting slits in front and back)
It is not perfect for hard combat. I do SCA armored combat and while this works as well as any other chainmail over padding, the fragility of aluminum rings does means I come away with a few missing rings at each event I get tagged in the body. It’s not gonna be my forever chain shirt but it's an excellent start and will definitely prompt me to try and acquire one is a hardier material later on.
Well made, genuine leather. It doubled as an accent piece for a musketeer outfit, and it worked well to attach a one shoulder cape.

The pistol fits nice and snug in the holster, which is great for a character that is always on the move.
I also appreciate that I am able to attach it at different angles thanks to the two direction belt loop.
I've had the opportunity to use this for a weekend, and overall it held up well. Other than being stiff it's comfortable enough to wear, though it's a bit uncomfortable to wear all day, particularly when trying to sit down or eat. The look is great, it looks as represented in pictures. For an off the shelf piece of armor it's a good choice, but I would leave off one star for comfort - a shorter breastplate would make it easier to bend and move the upper body.
I ordered this based on the look of the pistol and the price was not outrageous like many others are. However, this is supposed to be a “replica” and not a toy. I know it’s a fine line between the two but details count. The finish on the top part has black blemishes that cannot come off. The hammer is really just a cap hammer and not a replica firing pin at all. I hoped to use this in a carefully planned skirmish in a few weeks reenacting a famous pirate attack on Liverpool against redcoats but this would be noticeably subpar from all the others who have invested hundreds in real replicas. I can’t use it as intended. I did get what I paid for and delivery was quick but the fittings are loose and up close, this looks like a toy. More details would’ve helped a lot.
Buying things off the internet always comes with a degree of caution and anxiety, which was no different here. But previous reviews, albeit few, coupled with the clear photo of the product, gave me hope. I was not disappointed. The belt was comfortable, quite adjustable to a point I did not worry about being under or over sized, regardless of armor or clothing added. And was flexible enough to open up to get pouches and decor added along. It felt sturdy and well made in my hands. I would hands down, buy it again.
