Description
Inspired by early Vikings, Saxons, and proto-germanic tribes, this foam and latex LARP shield is carved from EVA foam to look like true wood. Coated in a layer of durable latex, it features a wood grain texture on both the front and back--something that makes this shield truly unique and perfect to achieve an immersive look. You can even find small sculpted nails hammered into the braces, a testimony to the level of details achieved with this product.
This shield has been hand painted with an ancient Icelandic symbol called the Vegvisir. Used as a talisman so ancient Norse sailors and travellers could find their way, this wayfinder was thought to guide its wards on the right path no matter the weather, even if they were uncertain about their destination. This protective symbol suits perfectly this iconic round shield, as most Viking warriors and raiders were sailors above all.
With a reliable suede wrapped center grip and a classic round convex shield boss, this shield is lighter than wood, but feels very realistic in the hand, its structure sturdier and more rigid than older foam shields from Epic Armoury. It's the perfect choice for any Norse inspired character, pagan warrior, Viking warlord, or fearsome jarl in LARP.
