Description
The medieval longsword, sometimes also known as the bastard sword, was a late historical design that stayed in use from the 14th to the 16th century, spreading from the late years of the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance. Built as a primarily two-handed weapon, as shown by its longer grip, it wasn't a fully specialized two-handers like the larger greatswords but rather a versatile combat tool that could be wielded in one hand at times. The longer handle was mostly used to allow more accuracy and extra leverage, this weapon being often used against the rapidly advancing plate armors of the period, which would only be faced by targetting the weaker points. This foam reproduction is a perfect weapon for knightly characters and mercenaries in LARP, providing great combat flexibility as well as a historical shape.

The Stronghold brand of injected foam weaponry combines safety and durability. They use a lightweight medium density foam that is both soft and very resilient. It has a fiberglass rod that is coated by a layer of polyurethane foam, making it near indestructible and giving it an amazing flex capacity. The rod is also tipped with a rubber tube to allow safe stabbing. This collection uses a heavier, more resistant foam known for its strength in heavy combat LARP situations.
