Antiquity

Between its history and its legends, Antiquity is filled to the brim with iconic characters that are now points of reference for both real life and fantasy. But more than the Spartacus, Hercules, Judas, Aphrodite, or Hannibal, the time period also saw concepts that would grow very well represented in our culture, and inspire a lot of characters in LARP.

Description

The rectangular scutum shield was the most iconic piece of equipment of the Roman legionary. This large semi-cylindrical shield was used by Rome's heavy infantry to create unbreakable formations, protecting the soldier from the chin to the knees, and allowing the legionary to hide behind impressive shield walls when using the famous testudo formation. The scutum shield was a defensive bulwark, but this fantasy take on the classic brings its defence to a whole new level. This roman styled tower shield is larger and heavier than any scutum that ever existed, and is carried with straps instead of the traditional center grip. It's the perfect shield for a bulwark of the Empire, a massive shield for the front line fighter that needs to hold the line at all cost.
