When war began in our neighbouring country, everyone started to prepare as they saw fit. Some fortified their homes, others bought all the food they could find before it became scarce, and many wanted to flee to the East. To prevent a massive depopulation, the king had an idea: he had hundreds, thousands of swords forged. Each farmer that enlisted would receive a simple but sturdy sword. As swords were more valuable than any farmer’s market, many civilians enlisted in the king’s army. When war arrived in our land, almost every man, every woman held a sword, and was ready to use it. That why, today, we are still a free country.
