BARBARIAN

The concept of the barbarian is as old as civilization itself, finding its origins as far away in history as the founding myths of the great city of Uruk, thousands of years before any Roman or even ancient Chinese used the epithet to mock the people of their periphery.

Legend

The Scottish claymore is one of the most recognizable swords in history. A hand-and-a-half style of sword, it is almost certainly a development of the Scots-Irish single hand style of sword. The two-handed claymore was a large sword used in the late Medieval period. It was used in the constant clan warfare and border fights with the English from 1400 to 1700 C.E. It was somewhat smaller than other two-handed swords of the time, more adapted to the mobile lifestyle of the Highlanders. The two-handed claymore seems to be an adaptation of Early Scottish medieval swords which had developed a distinctive style of a cross-hilt with down sloping arms that ended in spatulate swellings. The Highland is a hard and rough place in the north of Scotland. Not surprisingly such hard land produced some of the fiercest and proudest warriors, and toughest mercenaries in history: the Highlanders.

Description

The Highlander III LARP claymore is a sight to behold. Its steel guard and pommel complete the brown handle, which is slightly studded for a better grip. The two-handed-length, steel-coloured blade has a silver edge for an increased realism. This historical classic is extremely safe due to its unique Calimacil foam material. It will also be durable for years, without special treatment or latex use. Great for Scottish characters and rugged mercenaries, this greatsword can be used by anyone wishing to have some extra reach. Be aware, however, that some beasts and monstrosities will use this claymore for its intimidation value as well as its sharp edges.
